An authentic manifesto of the Italian brand, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa is made based on the gritty Giulia Quadrifoglio production model. It is built at the Cassino plant and subsequently transformed in an artisan process that also involves a selection of Italian partners that specialize in the highest quality and innovative workmanship.

Made in only ten units, all of which have already been sold, the new special series is the most extreme Giulia Quadrifoglio ever courtesy of a series of technical interventions and a specific carbon-fiber kit that make it a masterpiece of aerodynamic efficiency: it can generate up to five times the downforce of the production version while maintaining a surprisingly low drag value.

The entire car has undergone targeted interventions to improve overall aerodynamic performance, while preserving the excellent original balance: more downforce, yes, but distributed harmoniously, practically identical to the standard configuration. This result stems from obsessive attention to the refined management of every single air flow. Every detail has been designed to guide the air with precision, reducing turbulence and exploiting every useful vortex to generate stability and efficiency.
The consequence is impressive: Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa generates approximately 140 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, reaching a value about five times higher than the production version.
Under the bonnet pulsates the iconic twin-turbo 520-hp 2.9 V6, combined with mechanical self-locking differential. This solution optimizes torque transfer, increasing stability, agility and cornering speed. The upshot is a car that not only accelerates hard but tackles every corner with precision, embodying the perfect synthesis of aerodynamics, mechanics, and Italian passion.
Dedicated aerodynamics package
The front features side appendages that increase the load on the front axle by exploiting the accelerated flows on the end of the bumper. A pair of profiles applied to the underbody also generates a strong suction effect with a significant peak in load at the front, made possible by emphasis on the ground effect. Along the sides, carbon-fiber side skirts seal the flow under the car, improving overall efficiency.
A leading role is definitely played by the spectacular rear wing. Its dual profile, supported by two central pylons, draws inspiration from the foils of the Luna Rossa AC75: hydrodynamic appendages that lift the boat onto the water. Alfa Romeo has reinterpreted this language, turning the foil section upside down to generate opposing forces: not to fly, but to force the car down onto the tarmac with extraordinary efficiency.

The specific design of the dual profile therefore guarantees an increase in aerodynamic downforce with very high efficiency values, which enable the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa to reach a top speed of 300 km/h. A solution that combines formal elegance and advanced engineering, transforming the complexity of flows into pure performance. The integration of the solutions designed by Alfa Romeo technicians ensures an optimal aerodynamic balance of 40% on the front, which contributes to making driving dynamics even more precise.
Luna Rossa style: exclusive materials and unique details
The aesthetics of the special series are inspired by the color of the Luna Rossa AC75 boat that took part in the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona in 2024. In detail, the bodywork is hand-painted in an iridescent color, reproducing the metallic effect of steel. Onto this base is grafted the two-tone livery with a red side band and the wording “Luna Rossa”, the team’s symbol. The Alfa Romeo brand logos on the front and rear have been modified specifically for this special series: for the first time in the brand’s history, they come on a red background. The 19″ wheels have also been repainted with a red shade from the interior, whereas the roof, shield and mirror caps are made of visible carbon fiber, unequivocally accentuating the prestigious, sporty nature of the new Giulia Luna Rossa special series. Finally, some of the ten units feature a two-tone livery that emphasizes the contrast between the metallic tint and the red accents. The interiors continue the stylistic story of the Luna Rossa team, including new Sparco seats with an exclusive upholstery inspired by the materials and graphics of the Personal Flotation Devices used by the boat’s crew. The dashboard fascia also houses a wafer-thin film, one of the multiple layers that make up an original Luna Rossa sail, provided by the team to be machined and integrated into the car, to bring an authentic fragment of Luna Rossa’s history into the passenger compartment. All this is even further enhanced by the interior trim in carbon fiber, including the central tunnel and seat shells embellished with the Luna Rosso logo to make the car a collector’s item.
